It’s not just the hugs the children give me daily. It’s not the gifts of bananas or live chickens or lemons the people give us. It’s not just the smiles we see on their faces. It’s not just their friendly ways or helpful manner. It’s not just the kind words the people speak to us, thanking us for coming to preach to them about Jesus.
It’s the knowing. Knowing that those that we win to Jesus, we will have saved from a multitude of sins down the road in their life and a lake of fire for eternity. Knowing that makes this work that I do so precious. So valuable. So wonderful. And it is the reason that I gladly get up each new day and still do it over and again. I want to help them avoid any further sins in their life. I want to help someone be saved from a lake of fire. Knowing this motivates me, moves me, inspires me. I love being a missionary because of what I know. It’s the knowing.
“Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.”
