Being raised in poverty level conditions and only having a 1st grade education because she had to work the gardens with her parents, visits to the dentist for Sra. Luisa were not something her family could afford. And as the years passed, for lack of much needed dental care, her teeth only got worse. Sra. Luisa then got married at a young age and the focus was on her children. Now, well into her mid 50’s and widowed, she confided in me one day of how difficult it was for her to eat and even how having lost so many teeth had affected her ability to talk. This sweet lady is my neighbor and has such a kind heart, always looking out for me. I was so moved by her desperate situation that the Lord touched my heart to get her some new teeth! She was so surprised and overwhelmed with gratitude and joy!!! She hugged me and thanked me over and again! What a difference her new teeth have made! Being a Missionary is this; It’s sharing the love of Jesus at every opportunity and reaching souls in whatever way we can, and sometimes that’s by putting a new smile on their face!
