Missionaries like my sister, Susan, and others who have devoted their life to the Call make me NOT want to be a Missionary in the most wonderful way. They are the Greats. Though I consider myself a kind, caring, compassionate person I don’t have ENOUGH love and compassion to face what they do to reach a soul. Few of us do. They are willing to face the Boas and Anacondas, the Tarantulas and other wild beasts of the jungles. They battle the spirits of the devil trying to kill them. They come face to face with headhunters. Their homes, their churches are robbed on a regular basis. They deal with witches casting spells on them. They only sleep a few hours each night. They work themselves to the bone. The devil comes into their home telling them to leave the Land of their calling, that he is in control there. But they rebuke him and he has to flee at the name of Jesus. But the Missionary stays. But they don’t just stay, they don’t ‘endure’, they LOVE it. It is their world, it is their love, their life. They are called, chosen and ordained by God. They are consumed by His Call. They are MISSIONARIES!
