Our AMAZING journey here in Ecuador has come to an end. Thank you to everyone that has followed my posts both here on Susan’s Facebook and Ecuador Missions Facebook. It’s been such a joy having you along with me. I will continue to post a few more pictures and blogs from our time with Susan even though we are back in the States.
As we were saying goodbye to Susan I wanted to say, “I’m sorry you aren’t coming home with us.” But she would just remind me that Ecuador is the Land of her Calling and that she IS at home. Then I wanted to tell her how bad I felt that us spoiled Americans were going back to our comfortable way of life while she had to remain there enduring hardships on the mission field. But I knew she would tell me that the only hardship for anyone is a life without Jesus!
Instead, we all just prayed together over Susan, all of her churches, her home, her incredible Work there in the Amazon. Then I thanked her for allowing us to step into her beautiful and amazing world for these couple of weeks, told her how much I admire her and how thankful I am for her. I mentioned that I cannot imagine how hard it is to be a whole world away, without your family there. Her response, “19 years ago, when the Lord called me, I knew the most difficult thing would be to leave my family. But I counted the cost and I said yes to His Call. Now, all these years later, seeing all the Souls that have heard His Word for the very first time, those whose lives have been changed because of the Gospel, all the great Miracles He has done here in Ecuador, when I count the cost, I still say yes every single time!”
I don’t have to tell anyone, but I will shout it from the rooftops, Susan Templet is one amazing woman of God and I am so proud to be her family!!
