January 8, 1944 was the day the Lord chose to gift the world with this incredible man, my Dad, Jerry Paul Templet. Today is his 81st birthday. Many times I only get to ‘attend’ the family celebrations via video calls (which I am so thankful to have available to me!). But what I know is that, even though far away, my Dad is right here with me on the Mission Field!
Being the Patriarch of a family does not end when your children are grown and have moved away. In fact, I need and rely on Dad’s wisdom even more now, than when I was a small child. He is a strong man, physically and in spiritual might! It doesn’t matter what I need, he is there leading, guiding, fixing, doing, encouraging, just being, and most of all, Praying. He’ll always send me texts and tell me that he is praying for me! Oh, how that moves me deeply! I’m so blessed and know that he is an absolute treasure to have!
On this special day, I wish him all the very best and the most wonderful day ever! “I love you, Dad, and I’m so thankful for you and the long life God has given you!”
