There are so many times when we make purchases for children or families, buying food, clothes, school supplies, shoes, that there is no way for us to document in words or photos each of these moments. I would have to stay with the camera to my eye and Susan in front of the computer at all times. 🙂

School Supplies for Yantana

Sitting at the bottom of the hill next door to our church is a small school in the community of Yantana (Etsa). Just a few days ago the “President” of the community approached us with this formal letter (above) asking if we could help purchase school supplies for the children. Of course we would!

Sra. Laura moved to the community of Talin, where we have a church, nearly a year ago now. She was excited to know there was a church there and immediately started coming. Sra. Laura has one of the most tender hearts I’ve ever seen. She weeps in the presence of the Lord almost every service.
The word, Apamama, is Kichwa for grandmother. That’s what we know her as. She lives deeper into the jungle than we do. But she has children and grandchildren who live in Puyo, so she comes here when she can. This is how we met Apamama. She is one of many generations of Kichwa who have
